Documentation Services

Reanda Art Conservation can provide the documentation needed for a variety of situations

We provide artwork documentation services to suit different needs, whether for a registrar coordinating a loan or a private owner looking to sell or make a purchase.

Typical documentation includes:

  • Condition Reports

  • Treatment Reports

  • Digital Photography

  • Technical Imaging

Condition reports may be tailored to the needs of a client, whether it’s an informal confirmation that a painting is in good condition, official loan paperwork, or documentation of damage for an insurance claim.

These write-ups generally come with considerations of what may happen to the condition of the artwork over time, preventative knowledge, bigger issues, and risks before shipping. All written proposals come with a cost estimate with treatment options.

RAC has a professional photographer on staff and we have the capability to perform ultraviolet reflectance and infrared photography. Ultraviolet light can  reveal the presence of restoration work on the surface of a painting and information about the pigments and varnish layers. Infrared photography may reveal an artist’s underdrawing and can be used to assess damages.
