We may ask for photographs of your artwork to get a better idea of what the project will entail before making arrangements for an examination. We are not able to provide official cost estimates without seeing the artwork in person, but are happy to discuss your options with you, and the potential ways we may be of service.

Visual assessments can take place at your site or at the RAC studio in Ravenswood, Chicago. If you bring your artwork to the studio to discuss its condition and choose not to accept our services there will be no charge. Otherwise, we do charge an hourly fee for examinations conducted on site or in the studio, whether or not a treatment is required.

Depending on the location of the artwork, there may be additional travel costs associated with on-site visits.

We do not provide art transportation services. You will be responsible for transporting or shipping your works to and from the RAC studio. We can put you in touch with professional art handlers in the Chicago area.

We charge a flat fee for written condition reports, in addition to the fee for examinations.

We aim to provide a variety of treatment solutions with cost estimates so that clients know what their options are. We will provide an official treatment proposal with cost estimate only after we examine the artwork in person and there is agreement upon a course of action.

It may be necessary for us to perform tests to determine an appropriate treatment for your artwork.

We will not undertake any testing or treatment on your artwork without a signed service agreement contract granting permission for the proposed work and agreeing to the estimated costs.

Should an unexpected problem arise during testing or treatment, We will notify you immediately to discuss options for moving forward.

In cases where a treatment is undertaken at the RAC studio, we require that all payments be made before releasing the artwork unless otherwise agreed in writing.
