Examination Services
Reanda Art Conservation provides in-person visual assessments of the condition of artworks. Examinations can be undertaken on-site or at the RAC studio in Ravenswood, Chicago. Examinations are a necessary step in determining a conservation treatment plan and are also performed in a number of other scenarios such as insurance claims, sales and loans.
Treatment Services
We specialize in the conservation treatment of easel paintings from the 14th century to the present. With a background in museum conservation departments, our approach is sensitive to the natural aging of artworks and strongly favors minimal intervention. We discuss the goals for treatment in the initial planning stage, and aim to provide options to best meet the time and budget considerations of our clients.
Documentation Services
Reanda Art Conservation always documents our conservation treatments with written reports and digital images of our process. We also generate condition reports to meet our client’s needs, whether for an insurance claim, a sale, or a loan, and can perform technical imaging to capture information about artworks with the use of infrared and/or ultraviolet light.
Consultation Services
Our consulting typically revolves around the proper care of artworks, whether for display, handling, storage or transport. We can help clarify the potential risks to artworks and describe proper procedures, as well as troubleshoot unusual scenarios such as dealing with oversized or mixed media paintings.
